JON D. CAMINEZ is owner of Jon D. Caminez, P.A. in Monticello, Florida. For almost 43 years, he has litigated cases primarily involving personal injury and wrongful death in North Florida, as well as serving as co-counsel for numerous cases in Georgia, Alabama and other states. He initially worked for the United States Department of Justice. He began his private practice in this area in 1972 and has specialized in personal injury work since 1974.
Mr. Caminez has tried numerous jury trials and was in the first class of Board certified civil trial attorneys who were given their certificate in 1983. He is also the first Baker Act hearing examiner and was awarded Citizen of the Year for his work in that field.
Mr. Caminez is a longstanding member of the Florida Justice Association, formerly known as The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and a member of the American Association for Justice, formerly known as the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the Florida Supreme Court, and all Circuit Courts in the state of Florida.
Mr. Caminez was successful in the first jury trial against the State of Florida, and his client was awarded a verdict greater than the policy limits. He obtained million dollar verdicts in jury trials, including a recent verdict against Walmart for $1,500,000.00.
At this time, Mr. Caminez specializes in tractor/trailer accidents, as well as serious automobile accidents, products liability cases, premises liability cases, and medical malpractice cases.
Mr. Caminez is known for taking cases to trial when they do not settle for a fair value and works hard in any case whether big or small in which the firm undertakes representation.
Mr. Caminez also handled the Wells v. TMH case, which went to trial and was affirmed by the Florida Supreme Court and established a valuable legal precedent in apportionment of liability awards, as well as being the last case tried with a jury against Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where a successful verdict was obtained.
Mr. Caminez is an experienced trial lawyer, having had many jury trials in this area, as well as in other states. He is a Board certified trial lawyer, having been certified in the first class of lawyers to be certified in the state of Florida. He is experienced in automobile and truck accidents, premises and product liability and medical malpractice. He has been the lead attorney in cases against Walmart, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, and Buckeye where several jury verdicts were obtained. He is very experienced in mediations and has obtained very favorable results in numerous cases. He is married to Linda, and they have three children and five lovely grandchildren.

Scott Wolf joined the firm of Jon D. Caminez, P.A. in 2009. Mr. Wolf brought a wealth of rounded experience to the firm from his work in the legal field, education and computer information sciences. He focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, slip and fall incidents and medical malpractice. Mr. Wolf is a graduate of Florida State University (Management Information Systems) and Mercer College of Law (Juris Doctorate). Prior to practicing law, Mr. Wolf served as a consultant for numerous companies in the areas of software development and network administration. For five years, Mr. Wolf served as a Graduate Faculty member teaching at American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Wolf's technical background and attention to detail have greatly aided his representation of clients in personal injury, automobile accidents, slip and fall incidents and medical malpractice.

Shannon Brown was born and raised in Madison County, Florida. He attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and was awarded a bachelor of science in Criminal Justice in 2002. He has worked for Jon D. Caminez, P.A., for more than 20 years as a paralegal and office manager to Mr. Caminez. Mr. Brown lives in Madison, Florida.

Scherry Elson joined the firm of Jon D. Caminez, P.A. in 2011, and is a certified Florida paralegal. She assists both Jon D. Caminez and Scott Wolf in the areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, slip and fall incidents and medical malpractice. Scherry attended Hillsborough Community College where she majored in Business Education. She received her paralegal certificate from the American Institute of Paralegal Studies, in conjunction with the University of Tampa. Scherry has thirty-plus years of experience, having been employed with several firms in Florida in a variety of areas of practice. She is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Paralegal Association of Florida, Big Bend Chapter, and was formerly Treasurer of Florida Legal Assistants, Inc., n/k/a Paralegal Association of Florida, Inc.

Wanda Sons is a native of Bruce, Mississippi and attended Jackson Commercial College in Jackson, Mississippi. After working for the State of Mississippi for sixteen years, she moved to Thomasville, GA where she began her career in law working as a legal assistant for Whitehurst, Cohen & Blackburn. Twelve years later, while still residing in Thomasville, she took a legal assistant position with the firm of Fuller, Johnson & Farrell, P.A. in Tallahassee, FL where she worked for eighteen years. She joined the firm of Jon D. Caminez, P.A. in April, 2009, as a legal assistant with 30 years of experience.

Sam Armstrong was born in Albany, Georgia and now lives in Monticello, Florida. He attended Savannah College of Art and Design. Sam and his wife Candace have been married for 6 years and have one daughter, Addison and another daughter due in late October, 2009. Sam recently graduated from Tallahassee Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Sam plans to attend Florida State University and get his law degree. Sam is employed as the office videographer. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family and play video games.

Danielle Merritt was born and raised in Monticello, Florida. She attended Tallahassee Community College and was awarded a degree in Paralegal and Legal Studies in 2014. She has been employed with the Caminez Law Firm since 2010.

Barbara is a life-long resident of this area having been born in Greenville, FL and raised in Waukeenah, Florida. She handles the firm's accounts payable and numerous other records and is a liaison with Farmers and Merchants Bank. Barbara has been working for the firm over 20 years. She is married to Wayne Walker, who owns Walker's Store in Waukeenah, FL. They have three children and five grandchildren.

Brenda Wilfong joined the firm in February 2012 . Before coming to the firm, Brenda was office manager for Coldwell Banker Kelly & Kelly Properties. She attended Miami-Dade College with a degree in Business Education. Prior to moving to Monticello, Brenda worked for twenty years as a medical assistant/office manager in Stuart, Florida.
